Our 10 frame medium supers are built to last! These boxes are really nice, and have very few knots at all.
They feature our full top joint and routered frame rest. This makes for a more durable frame rest and top box edge, as well as a very strong, full top corner that prevents rot on the top edge.
Featuring our amazing wax dipping treatment, this box will last for decades!
About wax dipping: our wax dipped beehive components will stand the test of time and are completely ready to use! The hive parts are boiled in hot wax. During that process, moisture is forced out of the wood and wax is forced in.
Wax dipped hive components are known to last for 20 years or more with zero maintenance, and NO NEED to reapply wax later. Wax dipped hives CANNOT be painted, but instead preserves the beautiful, natural wood appearance. The wood color will steadily darken over time from exposure to the sun, but it won't rot or deteriorate!
Our wax dipped hive components are NOT THE SAME as some of our competitors, particularly the cheap imported hives from Amazon, Temu, and other online sellers. Their so-called "wax dipping" process involves just a quick dip into a vat of warm liquid wax, which simply coats the wood, rather than impregnating the wood like our process does. Their process will require re-coating every couple of years, while ours will last for decades without maintenance.

Great boxes. Went with wax dipped due to needing to install asap and didn’t have time for paint to cure. Received them quickly and after a quick inspection, dropped in frames and installed them. Sit flush on Dadant and ML boxes but appear to be beefier. I appreciate that the frame rests don’t end in a 90 but are rounded and tapered like Premier woodenware. Pleased.
These are quality boxes, from the materials used, to the fit of the joints. I will be buying more!

I had a problem with a couple of the wax dipped medium supers and contacted customer service at Hillco. Customer service called me and explained what happened and sent me two new supers. Great customer service . I will be purchasing more products from Hillco.
