Cost saving design.
I like these tops because of the simple built in feeders. The cut-outs in the solid feed side allows sugar or sugar bricks to just sit in top the frames. I plan to try it as a propolis collector at some point. The impression on the top of the lid is the right width for our ratchet straps to fit across. I have set my smoker on top with no issues, yet. Hoping that will stay the case. I do wish there was a way for the lid to telescope over the side of the top box. Since I use wood boxes, I would like more weather protection when the boxes don't fit exactly.

The best I’ve purchase so far. The bees love it and use it with no chance of danger to themselves.Used the inside feeders and if ever theres a crack the bees get trap and drown. Lost a bunch of bee to it. So im very happy with the top feeder.
